Silvia James, Kindergarten teacher at our school, offers a "Jump Into German: Eins, Zwei, Drei" language camp for children entering grades K and 1 from July 7 to August 1. Classes take place in the mornings at Minuteman High School in Lexington, where Silvia is working in the Early Childhood Department. See the Minuteman Summer brochure (page 19) for details on this class - hurry, there are still a few spaces left!

Longing for some authentic German food, drinks and entertainment? The annual "Sommerfest" at the Boylston Schul-Verein is a great summer family event not to be missed! This year's festival is scheduled for June 21 and 22. More information on the event is posted on their Web site and flyer.  

Dunja Pechstein, former Music teacher at our school, informed us about her first summer music camp in German as part of her Musikgarten program for children ages 2 through 10.  The camp is scheduled for August 4th - 27th (Mondays & Wednesdays) in Belmont:

The Canton Choral Society is performing Johannes Brahms' "Liebeslieder - Walzer" in German at their upcoming concert on Sunday, June 15th at 3:00PM in the Canton High School auditorium, located at 900 Washington Street in Canton. Does your teenager need to brush up on his/her German during the summer? The Goethe-Institut Boston is offering a three-week "Conversation and Grammar Review for Level A2" Course - just for teenagers. Classes are held from 9:45-12.30pm, June 30 through July 17. If you thought that "Tollpatsch" refers to someone who's a little clumsy, you're right, but now he's shown winner qualities: "Tollpatsch" has been voted to be the top "word with migration background" in the German language. Augustin Hadelich, a young and talented German violinist, will be playing at Jordan Hall on Saturday, April 12th at 8pm. Accompanied by the Longwood Symphony Orchestra, he will be performing Paganini's Violin Concerto No. 1. View the full program or read about Augustin Hadelich.
