There are two upcoming events by BU's Institute for Human Sciences that feature German speakers and might be of interest to you:
 

• Thursday, October 5 at 6pm at the Goethe-Institut: Ulrike Ottinger, filmmaker, photographer, documentarian (this event is moderated by Boston Globe's Mark Feeney)
• Wednesday, October 18 at 7pm at BU's Photonics Center: Wolf Biermann, songwriter, poet and essayist; Marianne Birthler, federal commissioner for former Stasi archives (moderated by Professor Karl Kaiser of the Kennedy School)
