Hundreds gather to celebrate the end of the school year

We have to admit it: We're lucky to be able to conclude our academic school year with a wonderful "Abschlussfeier" staged on the beautiful grounds of our parent organization, the Boylston Schul-Verein in Walpole! And once again we lucked out with the weather - a beautiful May day brought sunshine and warmth and let a big crowd of families enjoy the outside lunch and the games on the field following the official program under the pavillion.

As usual, we have to thank of lot of people who worked hard to prepare this annual event: Darian Neckermann and her team of devoted parent helpers who organized food, drinks and games; our music teachers Birgit Danckert and Katja Schoenherr who put together and rehearsed the musical performances; the 8th Grade students who led through the program; the entire faculty for a hard-working school year; Wolfgang Oeller and his Edelweiss Patisserie for his generous donation!

The program was filled with music  & songs by students; official greetings through Heri Sontgerath (chair of the school committee), Hans Toegel (president of the Boylston Schul-Verein), Friedrich Löhr (consul general of the Federal Republic of Germany in Boston); congratulations to the successful participants of the AATG, DSD B1 and C1 language exams;  good-byes to teachers who will not return next year as well as to Dr. Heidemarie Tirey, former school commitee chair and long-time parent at our school whose youngest son is graduating from the Saturday School.
