We're pleased to invite all parents to attend a special morning program on Saturday, March 21 during school hours in the auditorium 505 on the 5th floor:
PASCH plaque ceremony
At 9.30AM, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Friedrich Loehr, together with Dr. Inke Pinkert-Saeltzer, German Language Consultant from Germany’s Central Office for German Schools Abroad, will recognize the German Saturday School Boston as a member of the international network of German Schools: “Schulen: Partner der Zukunft” (PASCH) and present the school with the official PASCH plaque. Also in attendance at this event will be Marion Appel, Vice Consul Cultural Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.
About PASCH
The PASCH initiative was started in 2008 by German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The initiative establishes a network of over 1000 partner schools world-wide which offer the German Language Diploma (GLD). The objective is to get young people excited and interested in the modern Germany and its society. The partner schools support this objective by increased collaboration among each other; they are assisted by the Goethe-Institut and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Additional funding is available for teacher education and student exchanges. Visit http://www.pasch-net.de for more information.
Presentation: Raising a bilingual child
Following the PASCH ceremony, Dr. Naomi Steiner will present “7 Steps to Raising a Bilingual Child” based on her recent book of the same name. The book is co-authored by Susan Hayes. ‘How does your child’s brain learn two or more languages? What are common hurdles and how can they be conquered?’ are questions Dr. Steiner will discuss. A question and answer session will follow her 45-minute presentation.
